IMAGING

The Planmeca ProMax 3D Mid X-ray unit uses Cone Beam Volumetric Tomography (CBVT) to produce three-dimensional X-ray images. The images can be used for evaluation of dentomaxillofacial, ear, nose, and throat anatomies, as well as other cranial anatomies.
In CBVT, a cylindrical volume is captured in imaging. The data consists of hundreds of images taken from different directions and covers a certain pre-programmed target area. Images can be viewed in three dimensions in Planmeca Romexis image processing software

  • 74 micron (0.074 mm) slices.

  • cone-beam technology:  The cone beam produces less radiation than a conventional scanner.
